A day at the rugby

The Harrison Drury annual corporate rugby day was, yet again, a great success.

Clients, referrers and staff turned out to watch an exciting game of rugby between Preston Grasshoppers and Rugby Lions at the pair battled for the top spaces in the National Two Northern Division.

With the away side marching into a commanding half time lead, it perhaps wouldn’t have been surprising to see an even greater margin between the sides at full time, but the Hoppers came out in the second half and, buoyed by the home crowd, pulled themselves back to within 5 points with just 5 minutes to play but unfortunately another penalty and converted try pulled the Lions clear to claim an impressive 32-17 victory.

While the Hoppers did narrowly missing out on getting something from the game, it did little to dampen the spirits of our guests who all knew they’d witnessed a thrilling rugby encounter and an overall enjoyable day out. Same time next year, yes please!
