Property and litigation hires ‘take firm to next level’

Harrison Drury has further strengthened its property and litigation expertise as three of the region’s most experienced lawyers join the firm.

Allan Sumner, Mike Fetherstone and David Barnes have taken up roles in the Lancaster office.

Allan, Mike and David will help “take the firm to the next level” according to managing director John Chesworth.

Allan and Mike will advise Harrison Drury’s property clients on a wide range of matters including property development, acquisitions and disposals, property security and landlord and tenant transactions.

Meanwhile, David, is a specialist in commercial contract and chancery litigation, civil litigation and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) and will assist clients on complex contract, property and agricultural disputes. He will also provide specialist advice on contested probate and trust disputes, including disputed wills and inheritance claims.

Simon England, head of property and construction at Harrison Drury, said: “Allan, Mike and David bring so much experience to the firm, as well as a number of niche specialisms that will make us stronger and benefit our clients.

“Allan and Mike have great standing for their expertise with experience of large and complex housing, retail and leisure developments, banking and security, as well as acting for rural estates. David is one of the most respected litigators in the region and an expert in getting results for clients in pragmatically resolving their disputes without the need for lengthy court proceedings.”
