Introducing our HD community values team

Share

Harrison Drury is proud to announce the launch of its own in-house community values team; created to bring the firm’s ethos of ‘Making it Possible for Our Communities & Our Environment’ to life.

The team has been formed to help the wide-ranging charity and voluntary activity have the best possible impact on local communities and to internally co-ordinate the great work already achieved by Harrison Drury’s staff which contributes to both charitable and environmental causes.

The team is led by family solicitor Rebecca Patience, assisted by operations administrator Kate Walmsley and apprentice Josephine Ryding, who all have a passion for giving something back to the community.

Since its launch, the team has already overseen the adoption of a nominated charity by each of Harrison Drury’s five offices, introduced a dress down Friday at the end of each month, facilitated 20 work experience students over the summer months, and were instrumental in installing the Winckley Square defibrillator.

All activities have been supported through the firm’s charity fund. The Harrison Drury staff members are then encouraged to donate a fixed monthly amount to the fund with the amount then being matched by the firm. This initiative has seen funds already raised for Kendal Mountain Rescue, Lancaster-based animal welfare charity Wolfwood, Garstang Sports and Social Club, Fairoak Housing Association, Age UK, St Catherine’s Hospice and Cash 4 Kids.

The team is keen to develop their plans and community effort, with more activities and projects already planned for 2019; including streamlining recycling throughout the firm, supporting the gardeners who maintain Winckley Square Gardens and arranging team participation in several charity sporting events.
