Two local charities have received a boost from Harrison Drury after fundraising efforts.
St Catherine’s Hospice, a local charity helping people who are affected by serious illness, will receive £200.
Meanwhile, Cash for Kids, which works to help children live life to the full and achieve their individual potential, will also receive £200 from Harrison Drury.
Staff at the firm’s head office based on Winkley square, Preston, raised the total of £400 by joining the company’s charity fund. The fund invites its members to donate a fixed monthly amount, which Harrison Drury then matches.
John Chesworth, executive chairman at Harrison Drury, said: “We have been running the social fund for eight years and it always proves popular with our staff, it’s a great way for the teams to give back to the local community. We decided to split our fundraising between two very worthy charities in the local area.
“St Catherine’s Hospice and Cash for Kids both work tirelessly to support the most vulnerable people within our community and we are thrilled to offer them support. The team and I are looking forward to working with them in the future.”
St Catherine’s Hospice is the only adult hospice serving Preston and its surrounding areas. It has a team of doctors, nurses, specialists and volunteers who run community services which help people to live at home and have their friends and family around them.
Cash for Kids is established through local radio channels and delivers local initiatives for children and young people in the area who are suffering from abuse, neglect, who are disabled and have special needs or children who simply need extra care and guidance.
The social fund at Harrison Drury has also raised money for Fairoak Housing Association in Kendal, Wolfwood in Lancaster, Age UK in Clitheroe and Garstang Sports and Social Club
