Commercial Property

Simon is head of the Property & Construction Division at Harrison Drury.  Since joining the firm in 2013, Simon has overseen significant development of the division which now has one of the largest teams of specialist commercial property solicitors in the North West dealing with all legal aspects of commercial property transactions as well as separate teams focusing on property dispute resolution, licensing and construction.

In his legal work, Simon became a specialist in landlord and tenant work predominantly acting for investment clients in looking after their property portfolios. During his career, he has dealt with most aspects of commercial property including development, landed estate matters, acquisitions and disposals of real estate (freehold and leasehold and sale and leasebacks) and other assets. In addition Simon has advised on funding and borrowing by way of security on real estate and other assets. Simon also advises on matters of adverse possession and acquired rights.

Simon has also acted for a wide range of clients including high-profile individuals and national companies, retailers, manufacturers, investors, developers, financial institutions, charitable organisations and trusts, pension companies, public sector, educational institutions, estate owners and sporting and leisure organisations and clubs.

These days, as well as leading the division, Simon’s main focus is on landed estates and renewable energy. Simon enjoys advising our landed estate clients on the myriad of issues affecting their estates.

Simon is also a leading specialist in renewable energy work and is dealing with a number of projects involving solar PV, battery storage, hydropower and wind farms and also mixed schemes across England and Wales.
