Trick or TEN: get your Temporary Event Notice in early

Several of our clients tell us that Halloween has become one of their busiest nights of the year, therefore, take this early opportunity to check your premises licence before any Halloween events especially since it falls on a Saturday this year. If your event involves alcohol sales, licensable entertainment or late-night refreshment not covered by your premises licence, a Temporary Event Notice (TEN) may be needed. Ensure that these are submitted on time.

We advise sending TENs in early but the last date for a standard TEN to cover Saturday 31 October would be 16 October. There is an option for a late notice TEN that requires a minimum of 5 working days but avoid this where possible.

We have a team of solicitors across a range of legal disciplines all with significant experience in supporting businesses in the leisure sector. Meet our leisure sector team to see how our team can help support you. If you wish to subscribe to our leisure newsletter, please do so here.
