Harrison Drury supports acquisition of North Yorkshire nursery

Harrison Drury has advised on the acquisition of Daisy Day Care Nursery in Ampleforth, North Yorkshire, to an existing childcare operator.

The transaction saw LPI Group acquire the business and assets of Daisy Day Care from the previous owners, who are retiring after operating the nursery since 2009.

LPI Group is a newly established holding company that acquires and operates childcare businesses, providing strategic ownership and support for nursery and early years settings.

Daisy Day Care, which is registered to care for up to 24 children from birth to five years old, will continue to provide high-quality childcare for local families. It also offers a before and after-school club for children up to the age of 12.

Harrison Drury provided corporate, property and employment legal advice throughout the transaction. The deal was led by Jessica Woodman, solicitor, and Jack Stephenson, partner, from our corporate team, supported by Amanda Marwood (property) and Lauren Wood (employment).

The acquisition marks the second nursery investment for managing director Jill Dyson, who also co-owns a nursery in West Yorkshire – Harrison Drury previously advised on the acquisition of that business.

Jessica Woodman, solicitor in our corporate team, said: “It was a pleasure to support the LPI Group team on this acquisition. Daisy Day Care has been an important part of the local community for many years, and this deal ensures that local families will continue to benefit from high-quality childcare under experienced new ownership.

“It’s always rewarding to help businesses invest in the future of local services, and we wish the team every success as they build on the nursery’s strong foundations.”
