New private client partner to help grow Harrison Drury’s Stoke office
Harrison Drury has made a senior appointment at its recently launched Stoke-on-Trent office to further expand its service offering for businesses, land and property owners, and high-net-worth clients in the region.
We have appointed experienced private client solicitor Jennifer Couchman as a partner, she will advise clients in areas such as succession planning, inheritance tax planning, trusts, family investment companies, and wills and probate matters.
Jennifer, who has a specialism in advising farmers and landowners, will work with clients across Staffordshire and beyond.
She joins from Talbots Law where she was a director and the firm’s regional head of trusts and estates. Prior to this, she was managing partner at Woolley Beardsleys & Bosworth and also had senior roles with Knights and Tinsdills Solicitors.

Hayley Goodwin & Jen Couchman.
Hayley Goodwin, corporate partner and head of our Stoke-on-Trent office, said: “Jennifer is a vastly experienced lawyer whose knowledge and skillset will be of enormous benefit to our clients, especially those in the agricultural sector.
“Her senior roles within law firms across the region means she also brings a great deal of leadership ability to our firm, something that will be invaluable as we look to quickly grow our team and expand our service offering. We’re absolutely thrilled Jennifer has chosen to join us.”
Jennifer, who is a member of both the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT), added: “This was a great opportunity for me to join a respected, growing law firm with an established private client team that’s also well-known for its agricultural focus.
“The chance to work with Hayley to build the firm’s Stoke office from the ground up, providing local people and businesses with quality legal advice, was also another major factor in deciding to be part of Harrison Drury.”
We announced the opening of our Stoke-on-Trent office, based at Smithfield Works, Hanley, in November. It became our ninth office location and first outside of the North West.
