    Kate Shawcross

    Senior Associate Solicitor

    Head of Employment (Interim)

    Professional Background:

Kate qualified as a solicitor in February 2010, initially specialising in Litigation, but after handling a number of contentious Employment matters, she chose to focus on this area, and steadily gained her own niche within the firm. Kate moved to large regional firm Napthens in February 2016, where she helped expand the firm’s Employment offering into Cumbria. Kate is adept at providing pragmatic, timely advice and works closely with businesses to provide strategic guidance to help them realise their objectives. Kate’s work includes:

    1. Advising clients on day to day employment law issues.
    2. TUPE matters.
    3. Redundancy processes
    4. Share sales
    5. Corporate support work
    6. Employment Tribunal litigation

Kate also delivers seminars and training sessions on Employment and HR matters.

    Personal Interests:

Kate plays hockey for Lancaster and Morecambe Hockey Club where she has steadily migrated up the pitch, with age, from midfield to the the marginally less exhausting forward (‘goal-hanging’) position. Having played hockey since the age of 10, Kate recently experienced her first time playing Goal Keeper and can definitely say that she prefers the other end of the pitch!

Kate also sits on the Board of Trustees for local charity, CancerCare North Lancashire & South Cumbria.
