Bonfire Night 2026: Does your event need a Temporary Event Notice?

Fireworks and a bonfire do not, by themselves, require a Temporary Event Notice (TEN). But, if your event in England or Wales will also involve alcohol sales, regulated entertainment or late-night refreshment, please check whether those activities are already permitted by your premises licence. If not, a TEN may be required.

Please consider ahead of time whether you will require a TEN for Bonfire Night, a standard TEN must be given by 21st October 2026 at the latest and a late TEN must be given by 28th October 2026 at the latest. Where possible avoid late notice TENs.

We have a team of solicitors across a range of legal disciplines all with significant experience in supporting businesses in the leisure sector. Meet our leisure sector team to see how our team can help support you. If you wish to subscribe to our leisure newsletter, please do so here.
