Harrison Drury has further strengthened its private client team with the appointment of senior associate solicitor Charlotte Cooper.

Charlotte joins Harrison Drury from Napthens LLP where she worked as part of the private client team for the past 15 years, as well as leading the probate team since 2015.

Based at the firm’s Preston office, Charlotte will support clients across Preston and the surrounding areas with a range of estate planning matters, including work on complex wills and estates.

She brings a wealth of experience to the growing team and will provide specialist knowledge in areas such as tax matters, succession planning and setting up trusts.

Clare Fleming, partner and head of the private client team at Harrison Drury, said: “We are delighted to welcome Charlotte to the private client team, which we’ve seen almost double in size since 2022.

“Her longstanding professional relationships and experience working in the industry – from inheritance tax advice to the administration of multi-million-pound estates, farming estates and estates with foreign assets – will be extremely valuable to our clients looking to protect their future financial and property interests.”

After completing her masters in English Literature at Aberdeen University, Charlotte completed her Common Professional Exams (CPE) and LPC at the University of Central Lancashire, where she was awarded the prestigious Meritorious Award (MSM) for achieving the highest marks in the final year exam.

She is also a member of STEP (Society of Trusts), a professional body made up of lawyers, accountants, trustees and other practitioners that help families plan for their futures.

Charlotte added: “I have been aware of Harrison Drury by reputation for many years. It’s an ambitious firm that provides a quality service for clients and has great relations with employees. I’m thrilled to have joined the firm and in particular a growing, thriving team.”

Raised in Over Wyre and currently living in Poulton-Le-Fylde, Charlotte spends most of her time with her two young children, actively following her son’s football team and daughter’s ice skating hobby.
