Commercial property law team launched

We are please to announce the appointment of one of the top legal specialists in the North to spearhead a new commercial property law division.

Preston-born John Chesworth is to head a new team which will advise businesses across all areas of property work. John joins us after 11 years at Brabners Chaffe Street, where he worked his way up from a trainee to partner and helped the firm to be ranked in the top tier of the Legal 500 for property litigation in the North West.

John, former first team captain at Preston Grasshoppers, has worked for a number of high profile clients in the commercial property industry including Balfour Beatty, Laing Construction, the Highways Agency, the Ministry of Defence and Edinburgh Woollen Mill.

He said: “I am delighted to be back in Preston and working with an experienced legal team who are eager to develop the department. Many areas in Lancashire are being developed at the moment, but this regeneration often brings with it a number of complex legal issues which need professional legal advice in order to be resolved. I hope that with my contacts in the commercial property industry and the number of property developments taking place in the area, we will quickly become known as commercial property specialists.”
