CorporateKerry Southworth is an accomplished Senior Associate Solicitor whose work spans mergers & acquisitions, reorganisations, and strategic corporate advisory. Since joining Harrison Drury in July 2015, she has built a reputation for delivering commercially minded counsel and guiding clients through intricate transactional and governance challenges.
Her core areas of expertise include M&A support, often leading due diligence, disclosure and integration phases, group reorganisations and corporate restructuring (capital reductions, demergers, share structure advice), corporate governance and company law advisory work, including support to litigation teams on corporate aspects and advising funders, start-ups, family businesses and larger corporates alike.
She engages directly with regulatory bodies such as Companies House and maintains up-to-date insight into evolving corporate legislation (for example, gearing up for the implementation of the Economic Crime & Corporate Transparency Act 2023.
Kerry was shortlisted in the category Young Corporate Lawyer of the Year in the Insider North West Young Professionals Awards 2025, reflecting her standing among rising legal talent in the region. She has earned praise in Legal 500 client testimonials for her responsiveness, thoroughness, and ability to manage large volumes of information under tight timetables.

- Advising Walker Fire on its formidable acquisition plans, including acquisitions of Fire Crest, Detector Alarms, Southern Fire Protection and many more
- Advising Guy Topping on the sale of Barton Grange Hotel (now known as Barton Hall) to Double Dutch Hotels Ltd
- Advising shareholders of FIT Events in relation to a management buy-out
- Advising on the sale of County Group to Global Risk Partners
- Lead adviser on capital reduction demerger of assets in holiday company worth £2.3 million in anticipation of an onward sale
- Legal adviser for Veg Capital and The Vegan Food Group.
Outside of work you can find me…
Outside of work, Kerry enjoys long walks with her rather energetic family dog. No stranger to adventure, Kerry is always up for a challenge, and completed Tough Mudder in September 2017 raising money for charity. Kerry also enjoys the theatre, with a particular penchant for musicals.
