Project & Transactional

Construction Contracts:

Our team is skilled at drafting, reviewing, and negotiating building contracts, including both standard industry forms and bespoke contracts, along with all associated project documentation such as professional appointments, collateral warranties, security documentation (including parent company guarantees and performance bonds), subcontracts, and development agreements/agreements for lease.

We are proficiently experienced in working with various industry-standard form construction and engineering contracts, including JCT, NEC, FIDIC, and IChemE. We take a practical and commercial approach to ensure that your contracts are tailored to meet the unique demands of your project.

Suites of Construction Document:

Our team is also experienced at drafting and/or negotiating  full suites of construction documentation across a wide range of sector areas including commercial, residential, sport, hotel and leisure, manufacturing, retail and logistics.

Documentation will typically include professional team appointments, collateral warranties and novation documentation, together with security documentation including performance bonds/guarantees, and subcontract agreements.

The team works regularly with colleagues in our real estate development and corporate teams providing a wide range of construction services ancillary to development schemes and corporate transactions.

We regularly draft bespoke amendments to the standard industry form construction contracts, with particular experience at working with JCT and NEC contracts and associated subcontracts.  We can assist you with engrossing your hard or digital copy contracts.

We are able to advise on and amend your existing subcontractor terms and conditions to ensure compatibility with statutory changes and consumer protections legislation (if appropriate). The team regularly drafts bespoke terms to suit the individual needs of clients.

Construction Risk Management and Due Diligence:

Our team approaches contract reviews commercially, conducting thorough risk management assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks.

We perform due diligence reviews before contracts are issued, ensuring a proactive approach to risk mitigation.

Construction Procurement Methods:

We can provide you with commercial advice on the risks involved in your chosen procurement method and can advise you on alternative procurement methods and solutions.
