Harrison Drury’s corporate team has advised on a deal that has seen a leading global provider of high-security and tactical training solutions acquire a UK-based specialist in physical security systems.

Our corporate team, led by partner Hayley Goodwin, advised Shropshire-headquartered BeaverFit on its purchase of Bastion, which is based in Newcastle.

The acquisition further strengthens BeaverFit’s defence and security offerings, allowing the company to integrate Bastion’s modular walling systems into a broader suite of deployable infrastructure and force protection solutions.

Harrison Drury’s advisory team on the deal also included Wendy Catterall, Sarah Brough and Richard Williams-Bulkeley in the corporate team, Terry Griffin in the regulatory team, Emma Butterworth and Sophie Holt-Rogers in the employment team and Jennifer Potts and Jake McLaughlin in the commercial property team.

In addition to Harrison Drury’s support, BeaverFit received corporate finance advice and tax advice from CN Strategic Advisors LLP led by David Baggott and Andrew Baggott.

Tom Beaver, managing director and founder at BeaverFit UK, said: “This partnership allows us to combine forces and deliver even greater value to clients needing scalable, modular protection in mission-critical environments. We’ve long admired Bastion’s expertise in physical security and are thrilled to welcome them into the BeaverFit group.”

Hayley Goodwin, partner in Harrison Drury’s corporate team, added: “This is a highly strategic acquisition, one that has huge benefits for both BeaverFit and Bastion and their respective clients.

“Bringing together their complementary range of physical security systems and products provides great opportunities for growth by allowing them to meet the complex and ever evolving requirements of customers. We’re proud to have supported BeaverFit in making this acquisition possible.”

Founded in the late 1970s, Bastion has pioneered solutions designed to mitigate threats such as forced entry, ballistic impact, blast effects and surreptitious attack.

Bastion’s product range and expertise will become part of BeaverFit’s security division, expanding the company’s ability to deliver modular solutions that support real-world operational requirements.

The acquisition is a part of BeaverFit’s continued mission to grow its UK and global footprint, while meeting the increasingly complex needs of defence and security clients. Bastion’s design and manufacturing capabilities will remain based in the UK, supporting UK and international projects.
