Harrison Drury strengthens Manchester employment team with director appointment
Harrison Drury has grown its employment team in Manchester with the appointment of Sally Tomlinson as legal director.
Sally has over 15 years of experience working in employment law, having previously held roles at other city-based firms, including Slater Heelis and Nexus Solicitors.
At Harrison Drury, Sally will advise employers on workplace matters across the full employment lifecycle, from recruitment through to dismissal and termination, as well as on complex executive exits, employment status issues, and the enforcement of post-termination restrictions.
She will also support clients with specialist employment law advice, including the preparation of key employment documentation, settlement agreements and guidance on data protection compliance.
Sally will work alongside partner David Carmichael to further develop the employment offering and support our clients across the Manchester region. She will also work closely with our corporate team, providing employment support on acquisitions and disposals.

David Carmichael, partner in our employment team, said: “In this fast-changing business environment, issues flowing from the Employment Rights Act 2025 are becoming increasingly complex for businesses and that means employers need clear, commercially focused advice to help them navigate these challenges.
“As we continue to grow our team in Manchester, having someone of Sally’s calibre on board ensures we can provide even greater support to clients across the region as they manage risk, protect their organisations, and achieve their long-term objectives.”
Sally added: “I’m excited to be joining Harrison Drury at such a key time and I’m looking forward to working closely with David and the wider team as we continue to build the employment offering in our region.
“My focus will be on helping clients deal with employment issues quickly and confidently, whether that’s day-to-day HR advice, managing workplace challenges, or supporting businesses through practical advice or training to achieve change and growth.”
Sally is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association, alongside a select group of specialist qualified employment lawyers in the UK.
