Leisure Sector Update: Valentines Day

Welcome to the Harrison Drury Leisure Sector Newsletter. Your regular update on legal developments across the leisure, hospitality and tourism sector. Our aim is to keep you informed, prepared and ahead of the curve with insights tailored to support you and your business.

As Valentines Day is quickly approaching, we urge you to check your premises licences to ensure you have the hours and activities required for any upcoming events you may have planned for Valentines Day. As Valentines Day falls on a Saturday it may be that the hours you already have are adequate, but it is worth checking.

If your premises licence and any deregulation does not cover the timings you require, or indeed cover you for any Valentines Day events, you can apply for a Temporary Event Notice (TEN).

If you are proposing to rely on TENs on Valentines Day, the last possible date to submit a TEN via a standard TEN is Friday 30 January 2026 and the last possible date to submit a TEN via a late notice TEN is Friday 6 February 2026. We urge you to please try and use the standard TENs where possible as there is no appeal process for late notice TENs.

We have a team of solicitors across a range of legal disciplines all with significant experience in supporting businesses in the leisure sector. Meet our leisure sector team to see how our team can help support you. If you wish to subscribe to our leisure newsletter, please do so here.
