Russell Armer chooses Harrison Drury for new homes in Cumbria

Share

Harrison Drury’s property team has been selected by a North West developer to handle legal aspects of the sale of new homes in Cumbria.

Russell Armer Homes has enlisted the law firm to advise on the sale of up to 94 properties at its new £10.6million Cragg Close development.

Housing association Impact Housing has purchased 47 of the homes, with the remaining 50 per cent being offered for general sale.

So far four of the homes have been released to the public, all of which sold within hours of becoming available.

The properties at Cragg Close, which is located off Rydal Road in the Sandylands area of Kendal, will have a staggered release over the next three years with Harrison Drury advising on all legal aspects.

Naomi Fell, director at Harrison Drury, said: “Russell Armer Homes has developed these properties in response to the shortage of quality affordable housing in Kendal. The development is located in one of Kendal’s key employment areas and is close to schools and transport links so it’s little wonder that four of the plots have already been sold.

“The Help to Buy scheme has resulted in higher loan-to-value mortgages which has driven an upturn in the number of people buying homes. As the property market recovers it’s important we see a stream of high quality stock on the market, and the Cragg Close development is leading by example.”

Martyn Nicholson, managing director at Russell Armer Homes said: “This is one of the biggest schemes Kendal has seen for a number of years, developed to meet the housing needs of local people as well as to have a positive impact on the community. The level of interest seen so far is great news for the area’s economy and we look forward to welcoming the residents into their new homes.

“As a Cumbria-based company delivering homes for Cumbria it was important for us to work with a trusted and knowledgeable local law firm on the sales, which is what we’ve found in Harrison Drury.”

The properties available range in size from two to four bedroom houses with a small number of one and two bedroom apartments. The full suite of 94 homes is expected to be completed by 2017.
