Welcome to the Harrison Drury Leisure Sector Newsletter. Your regular update on legal developments across the leisure, hospitality and tourism sector. Our aim is to keep you informed, prepared and ahead of the curve with insights tailored to support you and your business.
With Valentines Day fast approaching and falling on a Wednesday this year (not a day of the week that licences tend to permit extended hours) it is worth checking your premises licence to ensure you have the permissions and timings to cover you for any special plans. If not, and you need to lodge a Temporary Event Notice (TEN) to cover those plans, please note that a standard TEN has to be lodged by no later than 30th January and a late notice TEN no later than 6th February.
Additionally, on Saturday 17th February there is the highly anticipated boxing match between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk. The ring-walks are expected to take place around 22.30 GMT that evening with the match expected to last around an hour. If you are planning to show the match and your standard hours won’t give you the flexibility you need then a standard TEN will need to be lodged no later than 2nd February and a late notice TEN no later than 9th February.
