Following on from our previous update, the Government has now introduced legislation which will allow premises across England and Wales to extend their licensing hours until 1am the following day for the semi-finals and final of the Euros 2024, provided either England or Scotland reach these stages.
This extension applies only to premises in England and Wales with an existing licence permitting on-site alcohol sales until at least 23:00 (off-sales of alcohol are not included). Any Scottish sites will have to rely on their local licensing boards to deal with any extensions.
The semi-finals are scheduled for Monday 9th July, and Tuesday 10th July, with the final set for Sunday 14th July.
We have a team of solicitors across a range of legal disciplines all with significant experience in supporting businesses in the leisure sector. Meet our leisure sector team to see how our team can help support you. If you wish to subscribe to our leisure newsletter, please do so here.
