Harrison Drury partner Hannah Hughes is to be locked up in the cells of Lancaster Castle in October – but it’s all for a good cause.

Hannah is taking part in St John’s Hospice’s Jail and Bail charity fundraising event on October 22 and will need kind hearted supporters to help her raise the £999 (at least) she needs to be ‘freed on bail’.

Hannah is joining other business leaders from across the area to complete the challenge which will raise vital funds to help the hospice pay for things like compassionate nursing care, bereavement therapy sessions, and Hospice at Home team visits.

Speaking ahead of her upcoming ‘imprisonment’, Hannah said: “I’m looking forward immensely to what should be a really fun day with my fellow inmates. St John’s Hospice provides amazing care and compassion for people and families in their time of need, but they rely almost wholly on the generosity of the public, so please support me in raising money for this incredible cause.”

St John’s Hospice is our Lancaster office’s chosen charity of the year for 2025. The hospice’s Jail and Bail event will see inmates reporting to a pre-arranged city centre location in their ‘jail uniform’ before being escorted to the Castle to have their mugshots and fingerprints taken and being put in their cells.

While they’re provided with lunch and time in the exercise yard, they must return to their cell in the afternoon and stay there until their bail money has been raised when they can finally be freed.
