The Operations team are looking to recruit an experienced HR Advisor into the Preston office. The successful candidate will have proven experience in a generalist HR role, ideally within the legal sector. Level 7 CIPD is desirable with the ability to adopt a hands-on approach with a proactive and solution-focused mindset. We are looking for a candidate who is a strong communicator, with keen attention to detail and who is confident working across all stakeholders.
The role:
- Provide HR advice and support to managers and employees on a range of people-related matters.
- Reviewing and updating job descriptions
- Negotiating terms and conditions of employment with staff
- Providing advice and playing a major role in work reviews and change processes
- Using HR information systems to access, input and compile data and an ability to analyse data to drive departmental performance.
- Identifying people/process development needs across divisions/departments.
- Good understanding of HR technology solutions with a creative approach to add operational value
- Managing people relationships, responding to any queries or problems that they have and managing their expectations
- Researching and recommending performance evaluation methods and supporting line managers to deliver successful people management processes.
- Monitoring, reviewing and updating all HR policies and ensuring these are in line with current legislation
- Taking a lead on various investigations, including grievance, disciplinary and performance management issues.
- Driving the business performance in relation to the organisation’s objectives
- Assisting in organising employer branding initiatives
- Promoting the Company’s Values Framework, ensuring it is factored into HR Activities, processes, policies and initiatives and acting as a role model for our values at all times
- Identifying, proposing and implementing employee engagement activities
Skills and experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Good organisation and planning skills with the ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines
- Self-awareness and discretion when dealing with sensitive confidential information
- Self-Motivated, desire to learn and progress
- Excellent IT skills
- Ability to work within teams and individually using own initiative
Desirable Experience
- Experience of working as an HR Advisor in a professional services environment.
- Ability to advise and work with senior members of staff
- Hands-on experience with IT programmes and HRIS
- Knowledge of employment legislation
- Personable with strong communication and relationship building capabilities across all levels of the business
- Ability to design clear and fair company policies
