A leading Lancashire-based barber has opened a new barber shop in Whalley as he branches out in the Ribble Valley.

Joseph Lanzante, who operates The Men’s Room Clitheroe, plus a barber training facility in Accrington, has opened The Men’s Room Whalley at 1 George Street, Whalley.

Working for more than 30 years as a professional hair stylist, Joseph’s new Whalley shop opened to greet enthusiastic clients on Saturday 4 July, after the further easing of lockdown.

Harrison Drury solicitors, based in Clitheroe, was appointed to provide legal advice on Joseph’s purchase of the property in Whalley. Solicitor Roberto Bonaminio, a commercial property specialist, managed the transactions and commercial conveyancing for the new location.

Roberto said: “It’s been a pleasure to work with such a charismatic person. Joseph is an international hair stylist and has developed a niche business in our region. He has great plans for his business and we are delighted to support him.”

Joseph used the several months in lockdown to furbish the Whalley shop, including the installation of vintage barbering chairs reupholstered in imitation snakeskin fabric by local tradesmen. The spacious men’s room has seating for up to 12 customers, allowing for comfortable social distancing in line with current government guidance.

Joseph said: “The hair industry will once again be thriving as the UK returns to normality. We were excited to have the new barbershop in Whalley ready to officially open which coincided with the easing of lockdown.

“We’ve already taken so many bookings from new customers in the local area. It’s an exciting time to expand and start a new venture. A huge thanks to Roberto and his team at Harrison Drury, who helped me secure the perfect location to introduce my business to Whalley.”

Joseph offers a range of barbering services at his shop in Whalley, including the latest in men’s haircuts as well as his classic hot towel shave.
