Why have you launched HD Anytime?

We spent 12 months speaking to clients and professional partners about provision of legal services and value for money was the biggest issue facing businesses. With many firms charging ‘on the clock’ businesses are reticent to use (or even speak to) their solicitor at times and this can compromise their business. We wanted to create a service that was fixed price, provided a range of services, and protected businesses. The positive feedback on the concept was exceptional.

How much do I pay each month?

The price starts at £200 per month. We calculate the monthly fee based upon the number of employees and turnover of the business.

Do I have to sign up to a long-term agreement?

No. All agreements will run for 12 months with the option to extend.

Is everything included?

All elements of commercial legal advice and assistance are included in the monthly fixed fee. This is listed within our brochure and website. The only area we charge extra for are what we call Special Projects.

What is a Special Project?

A Special Project is a one-off commercial assignment such as the buying or selling of a business or assets, property transactions or lease reviews, and dispute cases.

Before taking an instruction on a Special Project of a transactional nature we encourage HD Anytime members to talk through the deal with their Relationship Manager. We have probably done a similar deal previously and will be able to assist you when negotiating its terms or structure. The cost of this preliminary advice on transactions is included within the HD Anytime retainer. When we are engaged on a Special Project, you will be entitled to a 10% discount as an HD Anytime member. All Special Project assignments will be quoted for in full beforehand.

What if I don’t have a legal issue, would it not be a waste of money?

No. Because by using HD Anytime, the chance of you having a legal issue is reduced. Businesses often encounter legal problems because their agreements, contracts and paperwork fall foul of the law. And even the best run businesses can hit legal difficulties through no fault of their own. Each year we will audit and review your key documentation in line with the development of your business. Furthermore, businesses encounter legal quandaries every day such as an employee issue, landlord problem or credit control. As an HD Anytime member, you can pick up the phone anytime and speak to your Relationship Manager. This means a problem can be headed off before it becomes disruptive and costly. Owner managers need to focus on developing their business and HD Anytime gives them that freedom. Prevention is always better than cure. This is particularly true in the case of the law.

What if I use it every day, would I get charged extra?

No. This is the underlying principle of HD Anytime – unlimited legal access for a fixed fee.

Is the hotline number a call centre?

No, the hotline number will be the telephone or mobile phone number of your Relationship Manager. It will be their job to ensure you speak to the relevant expert as and when required.

What if I need to speak to someone at the weekend?

Our Relationship Managers keep their phones on over the weekend so feel free to call.

Why would I need a Legal Audit?

It is a legal requirement in many areas of law that written policies and procedures are in place particularly in relation to your employees.

With the law evolving at a constant pace, it is important your legal documents reflect this. Likewise, it is important that when you do business you do so on your terms. This will help to limit your liability if you are ever sued and can also make debt recovery much easier. Again, as your business evolves your terms and conditions need to reflect this.

Finally, when a business is owned by more than one person, it is important that formal ownership agreements are in place with shareholder agreements. This means everyone knows what is expected of them and what they can and can’t do in the business. Our Legal Audit will assess what you currently have in place and make recommendations as to improvements.

Does HR advice have insurance with it?

We will provide a quote for insurance to cover both the legal costs and potential compensation payouts should you be unfortunate to find yourself subject to an employment claim. The cost of this premium will be additional to the monthly fixed fee.

Can I get this at other law firms?

We are not aware of any other law firms offering a service that is as comprehensive as HD Anytime. Others may follow, but HD strives to give our commercial clients what they want, the security of good advice at a fixed cost.

Why shouldn’t I just “pay as you go”?

HD Anytime has been born out of the frustration we hear from clients when they pick up the phone to chat something through with their solicitor and afterwards they receive a bill. This leads to a feeling that the solicitor should only be contacted in extreme cases, and can result in legal problems arising because advice was not taken early enough. HD Anytime gives unlimited access to essential advice, and takes away the fear of calling your legal expert. Also, to recognise the loyalty of HD members we have added on a number of service lines which lawyers would normally charge separately for. Our comparisons have found that companies would pay a lot more by staying “on the clock”.
