Harrison Drury, has appointed experienced corporate lawyer Brett Cooper as it targets further growth and geographic expansion.

Brett joins Harrison Drury from Temple Heelis Solicitors in Cumbria.

He has a wide array of commercial expertise, including mergers and acquisitions, banking and finance, and commercial agreements. He also has a wealth of expertise in property and construction law, including site acquisition and development.

Brett will focus on business development opportunities in the Lancaster and South Lakes areas, supporting the growth of the firm’s recently opened Kendal office.

John Chesworth, managing partner at Harrison Drury, said: “Brett has built a great reputation through his work with some of the region’s biggest businesses, developers and landed estates. His knowledge of the North Lancashire and South Lakes region, and his wealth of professional contacts, will be invaluable to the firm as we continue to expand in the North West.

Brett, who joins the firm as an associate solicitor, added: “Harrison Drury’s strong ethos of client service and its openness and fairness on charging structures really struck a chord with me and was a major factor behind my decision to join the firm. The firm has a modern way of doing things and its forward thinking outlook is challenging the traditional attitudes of the legal sector.”
