Harrison Drury’s leisure and tourism team helped a high-profile summer music festival go ahead after advising on licensing and regulatory matters.
The Greenwich Music Time (GMT) festival, staged on the banks of the River Thames in the grounds of The Old Royal Naval College, welcomed some of the biggest music stars the UK has produced.
The four day event, held from August 20 – 23, welcomed 5,000 guests per night and included headline performances from Russell Watson, Jools Holland, Goldfrapp and the Australian Pink Floyd Show, as well as a number of special guests.
Harrison Drury helped concert promoters Cuffe and Taylor secure a licence for the four-day GMT extravaganza which was held in a fully-seated outdoor theatre in the grounds of Sir Christopher Wren’s iconic twin-domed riverside masterpiece.
David Edwards, associate solicitor at Harrison Drury, said: “As with any music event held on such a scale, securing a licence requires specialist knowledge and expertise to satisfy the local authority, nearby residents, and other regulatory bodies that the event will pass off safely and in compliance with a host of regulations on noise, the sale of alcohol and so on.
“It was a great result for us and the client and the whole GMT event was a tremendous success. We are already working with Cuffe and Taylor on arrangements for next year’s event.”
Harrison Drury have four offices located around Lancashire in Preston, Garstang, Lancaster and Kendal and our solicitors are always happy to help with any queries covering a number of areas of law.
