St_catherines_logo_FINAL-copyHarrison Drury is supporting a campaign encouraging people to plan for the future by writing a will while also supporting their local hospice.

The firm is backing Wills Week 2014 which will see its Preston office waive its usual will writing fees between November 10 and 16 in return for a donation to St Catherine’s Hospice, Preston.

The funds raised will help St Catherine’s, which relies on the public to raise an incredible £3.7m every year, to fund its specialised care for those facing life-shortening conditions in the local community.

Lynne Whittaker, senior fundraiser at St Catherine’s Hospice and campaign organiser, said: “Wills Week is an initiative that not only aims to raise money for the hospice through donations, but also encourages people to get their affairs in order at a time when all is well, sparing their loved ones further stress at an emotional time and ensuring that their wishes will be carried out.

“It can also be a time for people to consider any gift they might like to leave. On average, the specialised care of one in six of our patients is funded by gifts in wills, showing just how important these legacy donations are to the hospice.

“We are extremely grateful to the solicitors who are giving up their time to take part – using their skills and expertise to support St Catherine’s.”

Those interested in supporting Wills Week by making a will with Harrison Drury should call the firm’s Preston office on 01772 258321.
